Best Banding Moment
Championship Section Finals at the Royal Albert Hall quite a few years ago – test piece opened with an off-stage horn solo. I was terrified and had to be barefoot so that I could return to my seat quietly! Nevertheless it was a magical moment.
Least Favourite Banding Moment
In the Area Qualifying rounds in Stevenage a few years ago, sweaty hands meant that I lost control of my mute when trying to put it into my horn very quickly. I literally flew off behind me and had to be rescued by a tuba player.
